Sydney Fashion Week Day One - Highlights

What a crazy and hectic day! Really excited for the next four days to come. I've used professional photos as they are wayyyyy better than mine, you can't even tell what anything is in my own photos (that's how amazing my photography is!).

Here are the highlights from Day One. Enjoy!

April Inspiration

Just a few images I found which have inspired me. As I embark on the journey to reinvent my wardrobe, these images will be a reminder of what I'm wanting to achieve.

What inspires you? I'd love to know!

The 10 Items You Need In Your Wardrobe...NOW

You know those periods of time where life seems to get in the way of everything and you just can't seem to get anything done? I just went through one of those.

During my attempts at trying to wear everything in my wardrobe, I discovered that my style has changed so much that the vast majority of the items I have are no longer relevant. So, with that in mind, I have decided to sell almost all my clothes and start again! This time with the motto "less is more" - less items of a higher quality, timeless basics that I can build and reshape every season.

So, with that in mind and with winter looming upon us here in Australia, I have come up with a list of 10 items every women should have in her wardrobe for winter! Here goes...

1. A White Shirt.
There is something sexy yet understated about the classic white shirt. Wear it to the office and on the weekend - this is one piece you most definitely can wear 1000 different ways. This one from Saba is perfect!

2. A Wrap Skirt.
A modern and sexy take on your average skirt, wrap skirts are flattering on all shapes and can be taken from summer to winter simply by adding stockings and boots.

3. Boyfriend Jeans.
Comfortable, sexy, casual, easy...boyfriend jeans are all of these things! Like all jeans, you will have to try on a few pairs before you find the right ones, but once you do, you will never look back!

4. A Black Blazer.
A classic wardrobe staple, a blazer can take any outfit from blah to put-together. Black is a great colour to have as it goes with everything, and you can change whatever you put underneath it from season to season.

5. Printed Pants.
You can choose these to match your shape and style, but here are a couple of my personal faves.

6. A Little Ox-Blood Dress.
Ox-Blood gives a new and unexpected sophistication to the usual LBD. And surprisingly, it can be matched with almost any colour. Because this one is animal print, it makes it even better!

7. A Leather Jacket.
Whether you prefer biker or a more classic shape, black or colour, a leather jacket will never go astray and is one piece you will hold onto forever.

8. A Selection of Classic Tees.
White, black, red, short sleeved, long sleeved, striped, printed, whatever - it will always be a great investment.

9. A Tote Bag.
Stuff all your crap in it and go! Neutral shades go with everything and keep the look classic.

10. Neutral Ballet Flats.
Neutral tones elongate the legs and are easy to pair with everything and anything. Ballet flats are a sophisticated way to wear flat shoes, heaven forbid you should ever leave the house without heels on.

So there you have it! These are the 10 items I will start my wardrobe from scratch with. The important thing to remember is to buy good quality pieces that will go the distance.

Until next time xx

Better Late Than Never, Right?

I know it's Wednesday, and I'm late! In my defence, I have been sick with the flu so I apologise for not posting my outfits on Monday as I usually do.

Since my last outfit post, I took my extensions out and cut all my hair off! I am so happy with it - my hairdresser Bri is seriously amaze-balls. Bri, if you're reading this....I love you!

So I'll start off with a before and after pic of my new do'!

What do you guys think? It's so liberating cutting it all off! You'll see more of it in my outfits from last week.
