Layering, Hats and Black on Black

Apart from a very random heat wave, Brisbane finally saw some cooler weather and a fair amount of rain! Cooler weather means better, more exciting fashion and layering, which also means I get really excited about getting dressed!

So, here goes....last week's outfits!

Say Hello To My Little Friend!

If you read my previous blog post or follow me on Facebook and Instagram, then not only are you obviously very cool, but you would know that there is a very small and cuddly addition to my family. If you don't follow me on Facebook or Instagram, do it. You are seriously missing out.

With that out of the way, I would like you all to meet Moonboots!

She comes from a purebred Ragdoll mummy and an unknown Daddy (seems to be the way these days, especially on MTV shows or Jerry Springer) and she is literally the size of my hand, or a guinea pig.

If you don't think she is cute, there is something seriously wrong with you!

I will keep you guys updated about her adventures, she seems to be quite the explorer!

Until next time....thanks for reading!

Valentines Day With My Man

Because we are rather unconventional (and not to mention seriously cool), my partner and I celebrated Valentines Day 2 days earlier than everyone else...hello cheaper meals, and less crowded restaurants!

He surprised me, the cheeky devil, and took me out to dinner on a big paddle boat, to take in the beautiful lights of Brisbane.

Here are some snaps of the night. Hope you all had everything you wanted this Valentines Day (guys included!) Stay tuned for Monday's blog post, so you can see what I wore! x

10 Pairs of Shoes I Need In My Life. Right. Now.

Anybody who knows me (or even if you don't know me you still are most likely aware of this) knows that I am a crazy shoe lady. You know those old ladies you see with hundreds of cats? Well that's me, but with shoes, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Due to the very sad fact that I am unable to buy anything new (thanks project wardrobe.....nahhhhht) I have compiled a list of 10 pairs of shoes that I would buy right now if I could, but I can't. So, in a round-about way, I hope my pain brings you some pleasure, and I hope you find some inspiration from this list. I'm living vicariously through you.

In no particular order......

1. Zora Boots by Jeffrey Campbell $199.95 from www.solestruck.com

There's just something about the simplicity of these perfectly made boots that really speaks to me. With a perfectly pointed toe, very slight platform and a heel that's not too high, these boots would be a staple for my everyday wear during winter. Pair them with a pretty dress and tights, or toughen them up with jeans and a sweater...the possibilities are endless!

2. Don't Even by Jeffrey Campbell $154.95 from www.solestruck.com

I don't even know where to begin with these architectural beauties. Pointed toes are seriously hot right now, not to mention the metal cap adds interest and a sense of sleekness. I would wear these bad boys with a pair of printed cigarette pants and a button up for a polished and put together look.

 3. About Platform Ankle Boot by Asos $83.23 from www.asos.com

I LOVE fashion from the 60's. These boots are the ultimate combination of 60's mod and today's graphic trends. Worn with a miniskirt, tights and a classic trench all in black and white and you have an effortlessly cool modern meets retro vibe (not to mention the heel is very wearable and would be extremely comfortable).

4. Zealot Knee High Boot from Nasty Gal $178.25 from www.nastygal.com

If these don't say rock chick, I don't know what does. At the perfect high of just over the knee cap at the front, and just under at the back, these wedge boots are definitely made for walkin'. With the boot extended to the bottom of the wedge at the back, these are a sure-fire way to elongate your legs while looking like you're not trying too hard. Wear with an overall mini dress and striped tee for an easy-going rocker look.

5. All The Way by Jeffrey Campbell $174.95 from www.solestruck.com

Platform, ankle strap and a touch of metal, these gorgeous open toe shoes are a girls night out staple. With a platform thick enough to dance in all night and not get sore feet, plus the height to make you look like your legs go for days, I can't fault these. Wear with a white shift dress and gold accessories for a night out, or bring it back a notch with jeans, a band tee and a blazer for a more casual look.

6. Buckled Ankle Boots by Forever21 $39.98 from www.forever21.com

I had to put a pair of flat shoes in here somewhere (and they're not the only ones I found!) even though I am known to have a pair of shoes with height attached to my feet at all times. I loved these from the moment I laid eyes on them. Red is an unexpected neutral in my opinion as you can wear it with almost any colour and it works. The buckles on the side and studding at the back give these cowgirl booties a sexy, dressed up kick. Wear these with almost anything for effortless cool and compliments galore.

7. Lisa-Marie by Jeffrey Campbell $379.95 from www.solestruck.com

If you can't tell, I love boots, studs and metal accents, so instantly these beauties caught my eye. Made in a sumptuous tan leather, these on-trend boots automatically move into the 'classics I'd wear forever' pile. Wear with a tight, white midi dress and blazer for a sleek, sexy feel or with a structured skater dress for a cowgirl meets citygirl look.

8. Colourblocked Hologram Sandals by Forever 21 $16.80 from www.forever21.com

Hologram (as an exciting extension of metallics) is a huge trend at the moment, especially in accessories. These gorgeous sandals are the perfect day to night flat, and can be worn with tights in the colder weather without looking like a crazy bag lady. Best worn with an LBD for high impact.

9. Milou by Jeffrey Campbell $174.95 from www.solestruck.com

It's fair to say, I'M IN LOOOOOOOVE! All the things I love in one, perfect shoe-boot. Pointed toe, metal accents, monochrome, thick heel. These speak for themselves, and are probably very predictable for me! Absolute modern yet classic perfection.
Last but not least....10. Arrow by DV8 Dolce Vita $144.95 from www.solestruck.com

Brighten up a dreary winter day with these bright, fun, floral, heels higher than the trees platforms. Citrus green is a colour I've always been automatically drawn to, and the floral heel not only tones it down but compliments it beautifully to create a gorgeous, feminine vibe. Wear with a maxi dress or anything floaty for feminine, flirty goodness.

So there you have it! My 10 must-have shoes right now that I'd buy if I could but I can't (stupid Project Wardrobe.....). Although my bank account is thanking me, it's still one of the most difficult things I've done in a long time so thank you all so much for your support.

Let me know in the comments which ones are your favourites, I'd love to hear which ones you guys like and if you end up buying any of them!
